Gun Owners: Trigger Trainer by Full-Scale Tactics

Trigger Control is a major topic when you are in many gun training classes.  Practice, train, and practice some more.  Dry-fire training is important, but everyone has an opinion on exactly how you should do that.  Going to the range can become expensive.  The Trigger Trainer is the answer for dry-fire training, it’s easy to use, it ‘feels’ like a handgun, and it will enhance your trigger control.  Whether you are a new or experience shooter, hunter, competition shooter,  in law enforcement or military, or armed security, the Trigger Trainer can improve your trigger control.

According to Derrick Jordan, the designer of the Trigger Trainer, “The Trigger Trainer is a unique, compact and non-

Trigger Trainer

threatening training device. It is designed to immediately enhance firearm proficiency and speed by exclusively isolating and training the index finger for the development of smooth trigger control. Continuous and repetitious practice with the Trigger Trainer helps the shooter build the required finger dexterity and muscle memory that is essential to marksmanship. The Trigger Trainer develops smooth trigger control; subsequently it becomes a subconscious skill, guaranteeing that the user will quickly improve accuracy and speed.”

In an article in PoliceOne.com, Jordan says, “Being in law enforcement, knowing a lot of law enforcement officers, they get to the range four times a year when they have to qualify.”

“That’s sometimes because of the cost of ammo, but usually it’s because of work schedules.  So my thought was, ‘You can’t sit there and dry-fire your gun while on duty, out on surveillance.  What other way can you do some repetitions and build some muscle memory?’  So I came up with this idea of the Trigger Trainer.”

The Why Practice with the Trigger Trainer? is taken from the ConcealedCarryPro.com product description.
• Improve your trigger control.
• Isolates your trigger finger to strengthen it and build muscle memory.
• Improve your trigger speed.
• It features a weighted handgun handle to build muscle.
• Strengthens support hand shooting..
• You will find that it is safer and more convenient that dry-firing you gun.
• Saves time and money.

The Trigger Trainer comes equipped with a trigger pull of six pounds.   A Spring-Cap Assembly Accessory Pack is available with three, six, and nine pound trigger pulls.

In the New Products introduced by USCCA Magazine, The Trigger Trainer is described as “Continuous and repetitious practice with the Trigger Trainer helps the shooter build the required finger dexterity and muscle memory that is essential to marksmanship. The Trigger Trainer develops smooth trigger control; subsequently it becomes a subconscious skill, guaranteeing that the user will quickly improve accuracy and speed. And best of all, you can practice at your desk without anyone in your office complaining.”

AmmoLand provides information about the Trigger Trainer and its designer.  ”According to Jordan, “it is a unique, compact and non-threatening device designed to immediately enhance firearm proficiency and speed by exclusively isolating and training the index finger for the development of smooth trigger control.”

Jordan, who is a certified NRA firearms instructor, thinks of guns as not so much weapons, but a means of protection. He wants all gun users, from members of law enforcement to paintball players to shoot better and smarter. The goal is to shoot what you’re aiming at and safe practice is what makes that possible.

The Trigger Trainer is designed to practice with anytime, anywhere. Jordan has made it so that gun users can safely practice without the need of a gun range. He says this is especially important for the casual user who may not have the opportunity to train very often. All gun users need is a moment to grab the Trigger Trainer and practice firing with their index finger.”

Personally, we like the Trigger Trainer, and recommend it to others.  From Chuck’s perspective, you must continue to practice to stay proficient with your grip and your trigger pull.  From Sheila’s perspective, practice is essential, but so is strength.  The Trigger Trainer provides a great way to gain strength in your hands, thereby increasing the control you have when shooting.
